MALEE'S SECOND TRIP TO PAKISTAN PART II

“During my second trip to Pakistan I did another painting with the girls. It was the fourth painting that I ever did with them. In 2019 I will take on new students and design a curriculum based off of my experiences and learning with the first group of students. I am so proud of them and the beautiful time we had together”

GIVING A SPEECH TO THE MOTHERS AT ZEPH CENTER

“With Sister Zeph I gave a speech and talked with the mother’s at Zeph center about my trip, their culture and women’s empowerment”

“Even though the mothers and I did not see eye to eye on all issues that were talked about they still received me with open arms and allowed me to hold their children and love them. I was honored to be able to speak to them about different issues and get their input”

TREE SISTERS MURAL PROJECT

Tree Sisters is an amazing non profit organization based in the UK. Their mission is to counteract deforestation and they have offered much support to Sister Zeph and her cause so we wanted to honor them in some way for who they are and all of their efforts.

“TreeSisters is a global network of women who donate monthly to fund the restoration of our tropical forests as a collective expression of planetary care. As a feminine leadership and tropical reforestation organisation, we exist to call forth the brilliance and generosity of women everywhere and channel it towards the trees. Our goal is to make it as normal for everyone to give back to nature as it currently is to take nature for granted.”

“I helped over 100 children put their hand prints on the tree. It was a very exciting project and the results where absolutely beautiful ! Everyone was so happy : )”

RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT WORLD PULSE

“Before I left Vancouver, WA for my trip I picked up many World Pulse materials from the World Pulse headquarters in Portland to take with me in order to spread more awareness about World Pulse”

“We’re an award-winning social network connecting women worldwide for change. By harnessing the power of technology, we help create a world — both virtual and physical — where women unite to share resources, launch movements, start businesses, run for office, or simply tell their story. A world where all women thrive.

Why?

Because when women are heard and connected, we have the power to transform the world.

We are World Pulse and this is our digital uprising.”

SUPPLIES FOR THE CHILDREN

“Before my trip (actually both trips) I bought a bunch of school supplies and learning material for the children. When I was showing it to them they were so happy that it made me happy”

“I also distributed books among the children that they  needed for school. The little children melted my heart”

LAPTOPS FOR THE CENTER

“Labdoo worked with Sister Zeph and I both times I went to Pakistan to bring the children laptops that have educational material on them”

“Labdoo.org is a non-profit collaborative social network which brings unused Laptops loaded with educational applications to schools throughout the world without incurring any economic cost and without generating additional CO2 emissions to the Planet.”

TALKING ABOUT THE TRASH PROBLEM

In village areas you will see empty lots of land full of trash and even trash on the street. It is a problem and the people need to be educated about it and how it’s a problem so they can live more hygienic lives and also live in a better environment

“I also talked with Sister Zeph about the polluted waters everywhere, this is also an issue. People will use not only empty plots of land for trash but also canals and rivers for dumping waste”

CULTURAL FESTIVAL IN LAHORE

“During both visits I had the privilege of seeing and going to cultural festivals. This is also a passion of mine because I absolutely love different cultures, their histories, music and more”

“This was a cultural festival in Lahore that had live music. I took the opportunity to buy some cultural objects as souvenirs”

VISITING THE SCHOOL AGAIN

“I had to go back and forth between the school and visiting other places for my safety. Throughout my trip you will see that I would visit the center and then go somewhere else and then come back time and time again. This was because if I stayed in the center for too long it would be detrimental for my safety as a young American woman”

“I had to take pictures of the children and document their school days during my visit because they are just too adorable”

TRAVELING IN GUJRANWALA WITH SISTER ZEPH

“During our travels in Gujranwala to pick up supplies for the school and more we took the opportunity to talk about women’s issues in Sister Zeph’s country”
